Jackson and Alvaro, Aunica’s co-founders, experienced their own mental health struggles and found healing through a wilderness adventure therapy programs; where they met, became close friends, and later worked as therapeutic field guides, helping individuals in crisis. Their firsthand experience, both as clients and staff, showed them the life-changing impact of mental health programs but also exposed the challenges: therapists stretched thin, clients disengaging between sessions, and a lack of real-time data to track progress. Determined to bridge these gaps, they created Aunica; harnessing AI to make mental health care more accessible, effective, and supportive, so no one has to face tough times alone.
